Healing Relationships

Often relationship problems are nested within other more deep rooted issues. Chakras are like computers that store data on all the issues that we are facing. Understanding how the chakras operate can help heal your marriage or other relationships in a holistic manner. The Chakra system can help you evaluate the health of a person's spirit, mind and body in a comprehensive manner.

If you facing relationship problems, pay particular attention to the Heart and the Solar Plexus Chakras.

What are Chakras?

Chakra is the most common term for the energy centers that occur along the midline of the body, within the auric field. Sometimes visualized as spinning wheels or vortices of light and colour, chakras are centers of energy that relate to each of our body’s systems and organs. According to ancient Vedic tradition, there are seven primary chakras, although modern healers and new age systems may discuss more or less than seven. Each chakra corresponds to a different area of the body and an aspect of the psyche. Physical and psychological problems are thought to show up in a person’s chakras and energy field long before symptoms are noticeable.

Chakras have no physical structure. They are part of the body’s subtle energy system and do not have a physical representation or a fixed location - they can shift around within the body. A chakra may relocate by several inches or more as a result of surgery, trauma, or mental or emotional abuse. It might simply be a difference in their "energy anatomy” that places the chakras in slightly different locations in different people.

The Themes of the Second Chakra

The sacral chakra is the partnership and power of relationships chakra. With the second chakra, energy shifts from obeying tribal authority to discovering other relationships that satisfy personal and physical needs. Every relationship we develop serves the purpose of helping us to become more conscious. We create our own reality and life is reflected back to us via people who serve as mirrors. The sacral chakra also deals with the power of choice. It teaches us how to deal with duality and the significance of opposites so that we come to know ourselves.

Other themes that relates to this chakra are the ability to survive physically and financially on one's own. Power, money, self-sufficiency, personal identity and boundaries are other elements that can be brought into balance.

A balanced sacral chakra enables us to generate a sense of personal identity and protective psychological boundaries. If we can open the energy of the second chakra it leads to a healthy physical ego and enables us to interact with the world of seductive forces ( sex, money, other people, etc) without having to sell ourselves short. The lesson is to learn to interact consciously with others.
